Not only Catholic community of LAMLU is happy , but across our religions` differences we are so fortunately happy the have a new Church house , after the devastation of the old one by the Cyclone PAM in 2015.
The development at Lamlu Community had its origin on the establishment of the church. The Catholic church is the church that all Lamlu Highest ranging custom and politic representative had agreed to welcome in the Society. Because this church is with in adequacy whit the traditional living and customs. Such no mentioned of contradictions.
Also good to mention that all representatives of the 5 nakamal lapangnuig, lamlu, yunapeck, lownamel and leulik all got together and zeal the agreement of having only catholic church by performing the kastom ceremony of the killing of the pig. Also why catholic church because of its connection with France. France is known by the elders to be the one who helped them retaining their kastom and culture during Tanna Law. In other words catholic church is the face of France after the independence. This visualises the friendship lamlu village has with France.
